Dear Senior Members, Please let me know if any security guard is caught sleeping during working hours, so can we put any clause like termination or penalty to the Security Services? If yes then what points are covered / and up to what amount do we take as penalty?
your advice is highly appreciable.

Hi,
I hope you are using security services through external agency ? In that case you can ask the Security Agency for replacement of the security. Even if the Guard is an direct employee of your Company, for any such misconduct initially warning to be issued and cannot proceed with termination directly.

Hi,
Sleeping during a work hours is a serious misconduct especially for Security staff. Not sure whether the security guard was found sleeping for one occasion or multiple occasions. In case of multiple occasions and if the guard is already warned for such Act then write a letter to the Security Agency about this incident and present it as a big security threat to the Company and you will not be able to process full salary for that security guard. Might be one week salary or some lump sum amount may be holded and negotiate with the Security Agency.
Please check the terms and conditions you had entered with the security agency whether any specific clause is added towards holding of payment towards deficiency in services provided. If so you can refer the same and hold the payment. But mostly security agencies will not accept and will negotiate with you.

Hello Swati,
Found sleeping whilst on duty this shows poor security management overall. You can mark No Entry in future and take his replacement at immediate basis. Regarding same you can also align/call a meeting with Security agency Representative (Field Supervisor) that this type of incident should not repeat in future!
You can also drop a mail for justification along with evidence photo because this is not acceptable from security's perspective.

Every security agency enters into agreement with the proncipal employer.
Penalties clauses are usually mentioned against failures on part of security agencies or its guards.
Sleeping is however a general clause.
Based on this security agency can be warned or fined orboth.
It is the responsibility of the agency to provide guards which are trained and have the sense of responsibility towards the duty.
