Dear Seniors,

Ple advise me on below points about Group Mediclaim Policy.

1) Taking group mediclaim policy is mandatory by law for employer?
2) GST paid for the policy can be adjusted against the GST received ?

Before sharing some insurance companies contacts, please understood the fact that the following group policies are must for any organisation.
1. Group Mediclaim policy
2. Group Personal Accident policy
3. WC Policy or Employee compensation policy
WC Policy is compulsory for any organisation where ESIC is not applicable.
The other two policies are optional but a must for any company in case of any eventualities of employees and their family members. Group Mediclaim policy can be expensive, But it can uplift company name and brand in the job market for retaining the talented workforce with in the company.
GPA Policy is not expensive and premiums are low when you go for Public sector Insurance companies which can compensate for any accident that may happen during the course of employment.

GMC Policy is not mandatory but the same can improve morale of the company in the Industrial market.

With regard to GST, though I am not an expert based on the feedback from our accounts department, GST on Mediclaim policy cannot be adjusted as GMC policy is not statutory one. You can adjust GST payment on WC Policy which is statutory under law and applicable to organisation where ESIC is not there.
