Respected Seniors and fellow Colleagues, Greetings,
I need you all to participate in this post regarding the Bifurcation of Emoluments for hirings done for the Contract Period. With my employers in Healthcare setup, it's being discussed to hire Full-Time MBBS Doctors on a Contract period of 6 Months and renewing the same subject to their work performance.
Can we break their pay into Basic, HRA, Conveyance, and other such components or can we make a consolidated pay of sum amount to be paid per month?
Request you all for inputs.

As a general practice, emoluments' breaking up is being done to take care of statutory payments like, ESI, PF etc . However, as per the new Labour Code, components like, HRA, Conveyance/Transport allowance, Commission, OT payment shall be excluded from the definition of "wages" as per
PF Act and ESI and thus, liability of both employer and employee shall be reduced.
But for a newly appointed MBBS qualified doctor, the emoluments shall , in any case, be
higher than 21000/- and hence, in view of their appointment on contract basis, initially for
6 months, it would be better to fix a consolidated salary.
