I work with a reputed private school in Delhi which has multiple branches , as TGT. My school provides 3 months of paid and 3 months unpaid maternity leave to its employees whereas other good schools in delhi provide 6 months of paid maternity leave.
Kindly clarify the term so that I may speak to the school management accordingly.

What your school following is not as per the Maternity Benefit Act. As per this stipulation 26 weeks (6 months) of paid leave has to be granted to the pregnant employee. Pl.point out this act position to the management for an amicable redressal of your grievance.

Thank you for the prompt reply.
Is there some official document to support your statement that even private schools are liable to provide 26 weeks of leave, so that I may speak to my school on the basis of that?
