Dear Thiru,
After spending 10 years in a particular field, is it advisable to change to another field? Have you done the merit/demerit analysis of this decision? Do merits outweigh the demerits? Will shifting to HR dilute the experience that you have acquired in the last decade? In the worst case scenario, will the transfer put the clock back by a decade?
The production department is the core department in the manufacturing sector. What departments are allied to the Production? These are Production Planning, Quality, Supply Chain etc. Have you explored the possibility of working in these departments?
Possibly, because of the humdrum life in the production department, you might have developed a distaste towards it and you could be considering the sedentary job of HR as a cosy one. However, it could be a narrow view of one's career. Please enlarge it to avoid being contrite about in the future.
Thanks,
