Well, it depends on individual-to-individual thought process, an activity of two sides of the same coin: Learning via positive or negative.
Negative: The sad part is that many of us have never tried such difficult evaluations or failed hence we tagged them NOT OK.
Positive: There are many organizations which have started recognizing and considering the people who have invested time and money to upskill themselves.
“Who would say not to relevant and updated resource”
Look for the positive side of it as nothing will happen until unless we do something. Always keep yourself in recruiter or management shoes and understand the concept of upskilling and the value of it.

When it comes to resume selection it is all about 'key words' and depending upon the course you do, you would have greater chances of selection if you have done any course, be it online.
When it comes to the selection process, you shall be asked application based questions pertaining to your field. If you have used your acquired knowledge then only you shall be able to answer the questions.
Recently, I was interviewing a person and she had done a course in cognitive behavior therapy from Udemy. When I asked her some application based questions, she had no knowledge about them.
So, it does no matter from where you acquire your knowledge, what matters is how you put it to use and how you answer the questions in an interview.

XLRI has a high level of recognition
However, there is again a difference between a proper degree / diploma course, between full time and part time and between class room training and correspondence.
So i do not think there is a single straight answer.

The replies give are true. But one thing is clear. India recognizes only degrees and / diplomas from recognized universities only. That's the paradoxical situation prevail.
