Dear friend,
To my memory no law stipulates that employers should arrange all these policies, except ESI wherever applicable. However in order defray outright liabilities emerging like hospitalisation, accident, fatal injuries to employees a prudent employer should take care by arranging appropriate policies. Mediclaim (cash free), life insurance and employees (disability) compensation policies are inevitable. Employers may take a view/decide based on the cash free facilities, convenience, promptness, less paper work & formalities, competitive rates and track record in claim settlements. Above all policy benefit period should be upfront eliminating wait-in years. If more young female employees are on roll the health insurance should cover pregnancy also
