I am trainer by profession. Recently one of client asked me to ESIC registration for continued business. we are a 3 member organization including me. we are located in Mumbai. How can I go about it ?

1. Sir, may I know what is meant by "we are a 3 member organization". ESI Act, 1948 is applicable in those units which has engaged a minimum number of persons (employees) for the work of or relating to work of said unit as required under the said Act. How many employees or persons have been engaged by you ?
2. Further even if the strength of employees engaged by you is less than required numbers, there appears to be no problem since a contractor can make compliance on the ESIC Code Number of principal employer.

I am unclear why a training company is being asked to take ESIC registration. A trainer is not generally considered a contractor, unless of course you are doing continiius training inside the factory
