i want to promote an employee from non manager job to managerial post, definitely i have to find ways to fill the skill gaps
please suggest me current industrial practices for doing so(preferably with organizations name)
Also what are the procedures to be followed to send employees on executive MBA, or distance MBA programs, approximately how much will it cost?

Career planning is important HR intervention. Good to note that you have taken up this intervention. Nevertheless, it has to be extended to all the key employees and cannot be restricted to just one employee.

An Ideal Way to carry out this activity is preparing a career development plan. keeping in mind various aspects (Year of experience in the organisation, performance chart etc) of evaluating the right candidate for the same.
Apart from that you can look into various leadership development programs, MIM programs (Manager in making), short term diploma courses, Team building courses etc.
