Hello Seniors,

This post is to seek your guidance and more knowledge regarding my concern described as below.

Few months back during my interview at Big Bazaar for the position of HR officer, the HR have given me a problematic situation for which i have to provide out of box suggestions/solutions to get into the position.
The situation was like :- There is an year end sale coming up in 3 to 4 days and all of the sudden 10 to 15 sales staff leaves the job. As the year end sale is coming up there will be great rush of customers, so anyhow the vacant position has to be filled up. so what methods to be used to fill up the position in just 3/4 days - ( For skilled/unskilled staff)? is it possible to fill up the vacancy in such a less period of time?

Ans:- i told him i will try the following ways to fill up maximum vacancy :-

1) News Paper Ads
2) Internal Reference/staff reference
3) Contact consultants
4) Data Bank ( i am aware about Future Group Data bank as i had done my internship at Central mall)
5) Temporary staffing - contract basis
6) Job portals

After providing all the solutions i could think of, the HR manager told me he still wants out of the box solution & that these are common tactics which is been used. However he did not told me which kind of out of box solution he is talking about, neither i asked him what will be the out of box solution.

My concern here is to know, is there any other solutions available to hire skilled/unskilled staff for retail industry in such a short period of time?

P.S :- i was selected for the position but i did not joined.

Thanks & Regards
Soniya

I think the Big Bazar HR have this true scenario & must be looking for Out of box solution... & you answered with 5-6 points..
So the HR must have executed any of this & fulfilled his gap for end of season sale..
Did you get the job? IF yes then all is normal if no then your out of box solution helped that HR :D
