Dear All,
I am going to deduct salary of an employee who is absent for 2 days in October. his salary is 2500 US dollars. working days in our organization is 22 days . now, should i deduct the salary on the basis of whole month (31 days) or on the basis of working days (22 days)?
2500/31*2 or 2500/22*2?

Hi, If the person is paid based on contract, then you need to deduct for working days. If full time employee the weekends are considered as paid rest and you should calculate for 31 days.

It depends on the service agreement entered into between employer and employee and
you can enquire with neighboring similar companies on the above issue.
Acts depends on country to country. If it is US company the rules are different
than Indian company. It is better to consult similar nearby companies at
your place.

Simple Yaar
the calculation of salary is
salary/total days in month (30/31)*working days (with sunday (if before or after sunday worker is present then present for sunday, and if before and after sunday is absent then absent))

Hi,
I agree with sriram. That's the correct format of calculating employee leave days in case of Indian company.
And when its overseas company sure it would gets differ as subbarao says.
Thanks,
Stella.
