Dear Vinny,
you had done MBA with corresponded and job is near to you home or commutation issue is not there ....
i would suggest you just join it at initial face and after having some exp you will get more ......
this time you should think about work or JD ....

Dear Vinney,
You are fresh and have no practical experience. Go ahead with working with salary what is offered, gain experience and leave the job for higher salary when you feel confident.

hi Vinney,
You are lucky that at least 9000 and also the designation as generalist which will definitely help you in future so my suggestion is do not think only about salary.because of the recession in companies I have seen that even experienced personnel also accepts the salary like 10,000 and freshers did not given even chance for interview(It is my personal experience). so learn as quickly as possible. In future I am sure that you will get good salary. All the best.

Tejas.

Dear Vinny,

As some wise experienced stalwarts have said, if you are a native of Jaipur and if you have secured a job even with the kind of salary deem yourself fortunate.

Two tips to make little adjustments mentally to enable you pick the right attitude going forward :

1. Within you, replace the word salary and think you are receiving a STIPEND, which is what you

are really eligible for coming with just qualification and hardly any experience. Use the

opportunity and get to know as many things as you can in HR.

2. It's good to LEARN before you think how much you can EARN.

It's not only the present job that you should take up work hard and that too with interest, but also ensure that you are carving a future too. You have to sow the seeds now, to reap a great harvest.

Bonus Tips:

You have just arrived. However, do read books, blog, articles more on the subject or even outside on a daily basis and share your learning with someone who can appreciate it.

Try and work on your soft-skills - reading, writing, speaking, thinking, etc., and keep it going as this is a skill that you need to keep adding all your life to be competitive.

Make it a habit to keep in touch with the happenings on a day to day basis around you - in the business environment in which your company works, see how the market is shaping in the country, see what is happening in the leadership of corporates, and also keep a tab on how things are shaping politically as we are entering an age in India, which we have never seen before. I suggest you watch the English news Channel debate NDTV, or TimeNow, or CBN, or Headlines today. You will get to know and understand a lot of things including enhancing you listening skills.

Best wishes for now and your future as well. It'll be nice to seeing you make appearance's in this forum whenever you can.

Vinny,
There are 2 phases in life; one is learning & then earning.
As you told you are a fresher, please go ahead with whatever salary you are getting. Its a good profile learn a lot and then negotiate with other company o the same after a year or two.
good luck.

Dear Vinny,
I am in full agreement with Sh. TSK Raman. We have to deserve and than demand. Some practical experience gathered over a period of actual working will increase the value of your services. I learn that thou have a superficial (bookish) knowledge of labour laws. I think you should try to go deeper into the the provisions of all the labour related statues and the best way is to read them and simultaneously practice them during your employment. I would extend only one tip here. In the abbreviation HR or HRD, the first word is Human . Do not forget this aspect.

Dear Vinny,
Just to add to what Lalit Thakkar has penned,
I would add that you should look to see how you can enhance your knowledge and grow skilled in the following areas:
1. Value for Human Capital
2. Budget Control and Cost Savings
3. Conflict Resolution
4. Training and Development
5. Employee Engagement
6. Employee Satisfaction
7. Performance Improvement
8. Performance Management
9. Compensation and Benefits
10. Sustaining Business Though Succession Planning
11. Corporate Image - Working to make the organization an "Employer of Choice"
12. High Ethics, Integrity, Discipline and Uncompromising Principles
