I am Mirna , I am a mechancal engineer with a master degree in turbomachienry specialization , after completing my master in jan 2012 , i joined a company in Aug 2012 as a GET in Photovoltaic plant as a operation and maintenance engineer , i have worked for 1 year and i have resigned the company due to bad salary and current position of the company is bad.
I am looking to start a career in the software field cause even though i am mechanical engineer i have good interest in it from the beginning , but i dont want to keep fake experience in that field to get a job , so please let me know what course is good for me and please let me know by learning that course companies does take me without experience.

Initially, you should go for some project training program and get update yourself with the latest technologies that are being used today by the companies and then you can apply for the relevant jobs in software or IT field.

The next decade belongs to renewable energy field, esp. solar energy. Lot of renowned companies are setting up Solar PV power generating units across various states in India. The central and the respective state govts are encouraging the solar energy by providing incentives. Your O&M experience in PV field may fetch you good job opportunies and the potential for your growth is there. why do you want to change from Solar PV to software where your growth prospects are not attractive?
Ponder over before taking any final decision.

Hi. It's good that you have decided to stay away from fake certificates. You can take up part time or weekend courses on IT software and development. There are many reputed institutes that provide such trainings. Try and network with people from IT industry. Connect with people who have't gone the usual route of Engineering/BSC IT, but have done additional courses, so u will know which route suits you better.
U can always work and study; although it might be a little hectic. It's not very difficult to get into IT, and there is ample demand which is NOT going to reduce in the future. All the best.

with your mechanical engineering background i would advice you look for specialized software training in industrial automation software --

some examples are

1) SCADA (supervisor control and Data Acquisition Systems)/ DCS (Distributed control systems)

SCADA System SIMATIC WinCC - HMI Software - Siemens

other players in this areas are General Electric,Rockwell etc

2) Building Management Systems /Environmental Management Systems

3) check out more details at ISA | The International Society of Automation

4) Product LifeCycle Managements software

5) u can also think of training in ERP such as SAP,Oracle etc particularly in modules such as Material Management,Plant management etc

check this link

SAP Module Overviews | List of SAP Modules <link updated to site home> ( Search On Cite | Search On Google )

u will understand software used in product manufacturing better then CS guys based on ur handson experience on plant floor...

Hope this helps

I agree with Mr. Pon. Although IT is an attractive field, but then the business is always on a roller-coaster ride. Better to switch over to fields like alternate sources of energy, renewable energy etc etc....

Sir thank you for your replies and suggestions. ,
I agree with you that solar has a great demand in future , but right now solar o and m is very dull and it doesn't require much engineers to handle a solar pv plant unlike a thermal plant, mostly there will be one or 2 engineers per a 5MW and rest of them technicians and helpers , for that also they are asking 3 - 4 years of experience and they are looking who already worked in other renewable energy field like "wind" . and also one main thing is i am from mechanical engineering background and i have done masters in that field , that is like a major back drop while any one sees my resume , so that's why i want to shift this field and go to another field which could give me salary that would meet my end.

Recently I saw full-page advertisements in Bangalore newspapers regarding mini-size solar panels for home use, They guarantee 60% saving in electricity bill. So, new job opportunities, business opportunities are visible in the horizon.... keep looking out for such opportunities for expanding your scope of employment.
Best wishes
