Dear Aartri,
Govind has just provided the detailed steps needed for the implementation and the implementation steps may very from organisation to organsiation and other factors which needs to be taken due care before starting PMS may be you may get some sort of resistance from your colleagues and other vertical heads. My opinion is that you should take some external help to get it done. One more important thing is that it is a long term vision hence your top management should be in line with your opinion and he should have full support as at times thought may come up to put it in isolation.

Hello Srijan,
Thank You for your advice. I have a rough idea prepared as such and a vision of how i wish to implement the PMS, as you said keeping all the factors in mind.
However now I am stuck as I need to keep the PMS as simple as possible , because it is being implemented for the first time in the company. While keeping th at in mind I have opted for rating scale method. I have also planned on how to prepare the appraisal questionnaire for each category of employee.
Now, my question is should I use the weighted average method along with rating scale? or should I not?
Also, how do I allocate the salary increments based on ratings?
I want to introduce a PMS that would be paper based as the strength of the company is still less than 50, however the will be expanding very fast. So, there is no point in going for a software based PMS as of now.
I hope I have cleared my doubts and I hope to get guidance on the same.
Thank you again for your advice :)
Regards
