Hi
Analysis is one best way ..study who all satay and who all leav ,when( what age, qualification, family structure etc) they come and when they go,why they come and why they go etc
Make referral schemes popular to retain employees.
Keep a close watch on recruitment and exit gates.
Above all look at value adds for employees and have regular employee engagement activities.
Attrition is like corruption ...You can control it but you can't bring it down to zero.
As an HR professional you can boast about attrition data in your resume ..people will love to hire you anywhere :-)

Employee retention is a complex issue and requires several initiatives and processes to give you any sustainable results. It starts from hiring the people with right specs and frame suitable to the temperament required in the role, proper induction, treatment of employees including fairness, goals, rewards, working conditions and most importantly supervisory behavior. Short cut and change in just one aspect may not give results.
