your question is not very clear. THere is no specific requirement for employee audit in income tax act., can you please share the relevent section under which this query is coming in.
now to the second part of your question, It has a detailed answer, Myself being a trainer in salary related income tax aspects, It covers more than 50 heads.

Generally Payroll Audit take place at the time of Statutory Audit and there is no spcific requirement in Income Tax.
But you can do one thing in your payroll software, itself give you the payroll audited report but you need to enter the update field of the current income tax slabs or some compaies provide you also the updation in the payroll software as per the current budget or financial year changes in the same.
