Hi Friends,
I am newbie to HR field. I have joined in a newly started IT company. I have more responsibilities in that concern. I want to implement everything in a procedural way.
Employees are taking leave without prior approval or intimation.
Employees are arriving to the office late & leaving early. But my MD told me not to follow strict rules.
Employees gossip was high at workplace.
How to solve employees conflict?
Employees didn't follow my words because i am fresher.
Please give suggestions to overcome this problems.

Glad to find you have identified so many areas for improvement. Appreciate your interest to correct them. Here are few questions for your consideration:
How far have you observed the environment, without trying to draw any conclusion out of it ?
How does the information flow works? Does the leadership and the management maintain the transparency ?
What are the listening mechanisms in your organisation, without threatening the employee's future growth and freedom?
What are cushions/support systems offered to the employees , that are aligned to their needs?

Despite all these irritants at work place, are the employees delivering goods as per the time schedules? If so, probably your M.D is concerned with work and time lines but not with issues of punctuality and attendance. It appears your MD is satisfied with their system of working. If you cannot enlist the support of your MD, how you can enforce punctuality and attendance. If the employees, tomorrow, in a concerted way delay the work and do not meet the time lines on one pretext or other citing some technical problems in retaliation and your MD stares at you with "I told you' look, how you will intend to handle it. You need to think all about this strategically but not emotionally and chalk out an action plan .Try to enlist the support of your MD on the issues you have raised.
