Okay before I can give you really worth while answer, I think you should help me with these -

Your qualification

Your job role

---------------------------------------

As for a generic answer:

1. An experience of 3 or 3.5 months is not much to gain actual working knowledge, even if you apply in same industry or are working in same/similar profile.

2. If you are switching industry or job profile, this experience anyway wouldn't matter.

So it is better to introduce yourself as a fresher. Your 3 or 3.5 years experience would not only give you a bad feedback for your BGV, but it would also leave a negative impression on employer (Why did you leave in 3 months? Are you a job hopper? How can i trust your loyalty? What if you repeat your past job hopping with me?)

So start afresh. Also, you can always say that you'd been looking for something that clicks for you and give you an edge to prosper. Anyways you were job hunting before 3-4 months. How does it matter if you say you were job hunting for further 3-4 months. But leaving a job in 3-4 months definitely gives you a bad impression.

All the best and hope it helped :)

Dear CiteHRian,

Everyone is not blessed with a perfect job that always is favoured. An open mind to grab an opportunity for learning should always be preferred. As a hiring person myself I wont ask any candidate who have not shown their experience on the resume (as I am unaware of it, no chance of background verification). Even if you have no work experience, nearly all businesses will ask you to provide a resume before they consider hiring you. Your reference of the core curriculum should be clear and which inquires you of only a fresher. Presenting a resume of three or three and half years experience is not reckoned.

You ask self- satisfied question yourelf - Are you satisfied with the job you performed? Were you satisfied with 3 months experience that you've got; which eventhough dint give you any chance to think before you departed.

-- Most importantly, If you were a hiring manager would you ascertain to this kind of resume? [Ask yourself]

Your first job always gets you experience, second has a right choice to get your hands on earning. Make sure to do any job with patience. What's more when you swank to your employer that you are a reliable employee, you can ask for a raise or look for a higher paying satisfied position.

Mam,
Thanks for showing me the other side.I do agree with you on all the above points. But my biggest concern is I had cleared with all the rounds in a co. (C) and they are very big mnc and they have very stringent policy for background check (which is also my major concern)
is will that thing come into my way via background check to get that job. As i had applied for job as fresher only.
A bit abt my previous employer [Mine previous employer was also very well known one but that co. dose hiring in bulk and there is no good retention policy and sales and target achievement is only actual performance parameter for them only 1 out of 10 fresher hired completes a year with co.]

Let me make a point out clear -- No company does reasearch on somebody who had applied as a fresher. Certainly, I could quote an example to you; In case if a person has a gap of 2 years and applies as a fresher at that point of time the employer can question on the time let-up which infact even makes no point rather to prove that he aint worked anywhere. However, in your case you've been a fresher with just a matter of three and half months incision. For that reason there is no point for you to get worried.
More than a few employers in which the human resource suggests not to claim experience with a least period tenure (stability issue) & no releiving or resignation acceptance (absconding) would attain no gain of panorama as counted suitability.

See if you show yourself as a fresher, there is no need and point of BGV.

Let me explain you the concept of BGV.

If I am recruiting an experienced person, (obviously he'd claim more than a fresher), i need to know if s/he's worth the pay s/he has claimed. How do I do this? By asking his current/former/previous employer(s).

What do I want to know from them?

How was your work? Were you productive? Since when are you working? What was your pay-scale? What were your major contributions? Recomendations.

If your past employer says (for whatever reason) that he was not satisfied by your work, the application in major organizations are rejected.

However if I am appointing a fresher, seldom companies ask for references for BGV. Even if they do, they accept your professor's references to know more about you. I am sure you can share your concern with 1-2 of the Profs who knows you personally and ask them what to do. Ask them if they can help you with BGV.

Otherwise there is no other way to find out if you've worked elsewhere before. We would get to know about your working history only if you disclose, only to the extent you mention. After all, we are only humans and who would know you personally to think you betrayed by hiding this 3.5 months tenure.

Apart, this is the practice. No one would disclose such short duration on their resume/career timeline. It really don't give an impression.

Hope it helped.

Everytime when you leave the organization, you need to fulfill the leaving formalities of organization and always get NOC or Relieving Letter from organization. It will help you to prove that you have worked in a proper way and organization will also not blame on you after resignation. You may coordinate with HR of previous company ask them to provide NOC.

There are two things one has to understand, and I am telling these to you because you are in the early part of your career.
1. It is always better to hop to another job from a job than try to get a job from no job.
2, Whenever one wants to apply a correction to ones career, it is sooner the better than later.
There are always genuine reasons when one wants a change and that should come while explaining reasons for quitting without blaming the previous organization.
