Hello everyone,
I am planning to start a BPO voice process US as I am talking to a lead provider from Kolkata. Everything was smooth initial discussions, phone conversations, agreement, terms and conditions and process details. However I got confused when the lead provider asked me to deposit the registration amount to one of his colleagues account. Why not on company name?
So I am trying to verify if that provider is genuine or not. Can anybody tell me how to verify such details? Is there any open directory where we can check any business for their past and current records, reputation, reviews, complaints etc.
I know you all have an idea about the investment in any business at the initial stage. I don't want to waste it. Please kindly help.
Thank You,
RK.

Throw more clarity to what you mean. If this is process provider asking for a registration amount or a lead vendor from whom you are buying leads for your voice porcess. However, if they are a company they should have current a/c. Don't waste your money by putting it in a personal a/c. There are plenty of ways to source genuine processes as well as resources to run them. Write to me if any help required. ashcollageworks[at]in[dot]com

Hi
Be careful in dealing with this type of BPO business, those who demands for upfront/consultancy/service charges in maximum cases are all fluke projects, I have 18 years in this business, my suggestion is to work with the genuine companies work with proper SLA terms.

Hello Ramesh,
Can you please share some more information on SLA Terms
@ AshDG
It's a process provider company from Kolkata and he is asking for the registration amount per ID for US company. Initially he asked me to deposit the money to one of his colleagues personal account but I asked him for company account and he shared. He also shared company formation document, Registration details and also signed the agreement. But this agreement is not on a stamp paper. That's the only thing I am worried about now. Otherwise I think the company is genuine. What you say?
Thanks,
RK.

Hi,
When you are going to do BPO project with upfront fee, plz be careful. you can verify their background that mean already whether thy have outsourced any projects or not? If yes, ask them their existing vendor and clients. You can cross check them by this sources. normally we can get BPO project by reference only rather than like this. because one of my friend took a BPO project with upfront fee but he could not able to continued after three months. because non continuation of flow of files from client side and even he did not get the payment. Thanks.

What I am wondering is, Why are you asked to pay any kind of charges for a Voice Process. There is already a crisis for quality workers as far as Voice Related works are concerned. Is it a inbound voice or else you are wasting your investment on nothing. If its inbound then why is the vendor giving it to you and not doing it themselves?

References are a waste, as they are hands in glove. The verifying centers have a share in the amount that a friend just called as "upfront". Seems you are close to a set of rippers.

Out of my 8+ years of experience I can shell these out -

1. When new, prepare your resources for an outbound thats feasable.

2. Take quality seriously.

3. Have full recordings - Hi to bye.

4. Undertake assgnments of the level that's below what you think you can handle.

5. Commit average - no less or no more

6. Undertake easy assignments only, like LG, Tele aps, Surveys etc.

7 Don't engage a middleman - or you end with sure 2 -ves, quality grossed up and payments in dreams.

About genuinity!!!
The opinions are two and they are both circustantial -
1. The company is a seasoned consulting firm that acquires and distributes outsourced assignments to call centers and BPOs. Great then they must have a number of centers working for them. As there are no cash payments in outsourced jobs the a/c statement of such centers should verify transfer of payments and they must run in volumes respectable enough, months after months. A genuine outsourcing consultant would not hesitate in sharing such details.
2. The party clearly accepts that they are new to consulting. Here under if they have confidence in the process the agreement terms should be royalty basis and no initial pay.
About SLA or the agreement!!!
Another farce - these are arbitary in nature and can easily be made to convince the party that has to make the initial payment, in this case "you".

The way out -
A glimpse on the proposal and bit of market research can speak loud if the proposal is feasible. The feasibility is the key to outsourcing. In fact that's the foundation, a job is outsourced only to make the returns feasible. To judge either you sure have to be from the relevant background or have someone in your management team who does it for you.

Hi AshDG,
My suggestion is do not deposit/transfer money to 3rd party bank account, you should verify the main client on this transaction and get the security for your investment (like LC & BG) and then proceed with the proper SLA with the direct client on the terms you have discussed on the project process, proper billing and quality clauses. You need to cross verify, do not proceed with hurry, get the clear details from the person whom you are dealing with.
Thanks,
