I am a management student currently interning in HR and i ham confused which specialization to opt for. HR was my interest topic before starting my degree but i did develop certain liking towards market research during that course of time and while interning currently there are times when there is no motivation to work or the work is very slow and mundane.
Kindly give some insights on the same as i don't have that much experience in marketing but am updated with current trends in digital marketing, Pr and market research.

HR is a people management function where marketing skills need also to be employed.Employees are your internal customers. You need to sell management expectations reflected in it's vision, mission and policy statements to them and motivate them to buy them and fulfill them.As a hiring manager, you need to find talent in the job market and shall be able to sell a suitable position to him in the company which is no mean job now, given the war for 'talent' in the market. Having netted a talent, you need to sweat daily to keep him in good humour to stay with you through activities called employee engagement and dangling other carrots in the form of rewards and recognition for his performance.
Marketing is a product promotion function where you need to employ people management skills in finding prospective customer, selling products to him(motivate him to buy by telling him how it meets his expectations) and retaining him too to protect your market share as your competitor may at any time snatch him from you.
Now it is only you can decide which one you want to pursue by assessing your passion level for either of them, your likes and dislikes and which one you enjoy doing.
