Yes... Weekly offs are paid leaves...
Most organization take no. of calendar days in month as no of days in a month for salary calc i.e. it would change - 28/29/30/31 from month to month.
Few organizations keep 30 days as a standard format irrespective of no. of days in calendar...
Hope it cleared the doubt... :)

Dear friends,
My answer is yes. The weekly off day is already considered as days worked when we divide the monthly wage or minimum wage by 26 days. Hence payment of the statutory weekly off day is already included in per day wages.
Thanks and Regards

Dear All,
However it is alo depend upon the wage paid: In few copmanies (specially old organizations) blue collar employees are paid on daily basis. Here if the workman gets the wages for the days he worked and not weekly offs.

Dear all, In manufacturing operations, a wage month is presumed to have 26 actual working days and 208 working hours(26X8). Calculation of wages, incentives etc are based on this premise. In some months there could be 27 working days and for such months the calulation is varied accordingly. So the weekly off is excluded for wage calculation purposes for the blue collar workers. However for mininsterial staff and executives, who are paid salary, the month comprises all days including weekly off. Hope the above clarifies:

Abuhrd,
When you are paying salary for 26 days you are not including sun/sat or ur weekly offs for month.
This practice means the salary is mot paid for the whole month bt only for the working days of the month.
Ideally, salary should be paid for 30 days of the month including the weekly offs.
A salaried employee is not a labor to receive his salary for working days...
Hope it was of help... :)

Any people entry the factory premises for working purpose he may call employee or worker,
As per factory act his working hour fix 48 hour for a week & 8 hour for day, after six days (48 hour ) working he may eligible for a rest day,
So off day is necessary.
