Due to medical problems, I was not able to continue my job at a famous IT company in Chennai. I went to office only on the first day (the induction program) and could not go to work from the second day (ie, I did not start working formally). I submitted a bond for two years on the first day. I spoke with my HR and he understood my situation. I emailed him my resignation letter and he accepted the same via email. He told over phone that he would give me waiver for the bond breakage fee as my case was genuine. Now, is the email correspondence enough for proper relieving from the company? Or should I get a release/relieving letter from the company in order to avoid problems in the future? The release letter must be obtained from another branch of the company and I am worried if they would ask for bond breakage fee or would create further problems. My HR advised me that release letter for one day of work will not be helpful. What should I do to avoid background check related problems when I join another company? Please help me.

Hello Arjun,
Then you shouldn't really worry about it.
If you wish, you may choose to skip even mentioning this exp of 1 day in your resume & project as a fresher whenever you begin your search for jobs again. You could use your 'medical problems' as the cause for any gap between now & the time when you get/join another job.
All the Best.

Sir,
As you suggested, I wont mention about joining this company in my resume. In spite of this, when I join another company, will they be able to find through background check that I joined that company earlier?
If they could find, will they ask me to show proof for formal release from that company? Guide me regarding the same.

1 day experience never matter whether u are a fresher or experienced one. if u are joining here as a fresher then there is no point for background check. so, it completely depends on the facts that u have reveled in ur interview or resume.

Dear Mr. Arjun Shankar,
There is nothing about loosing your nerve here. Understand you are a fresher and there yet a loads to be learnt. Here in this case, you're not to worry as it was just a day and relieving via email and employers acceptance would be kept aside for future queries (that will do). On the contrary, no one will ask you even if you not mention your job with your earlier company.
Good Luck...!

Dear Arjun,
1 day is not considered as your experience... You've not even entered the job formally, how would you learn or know anything about the job only in a single day.. that too not entering on the job...
If it comes to me, I would not consider this as experience and would not even place a resignation mail to my employer for a single day but would have informed over phone that this was my problem to attend to duties.. You have done more than sufficiently and you need not worry for a single days' experience....!!!
In my opinion, it is not considered as experience at all
Even though they do a background check, it is negligible... coz the reason is genuine..!!
