Hi All,
Currently I am working as a System Administrator (IT) with 4.8 yrs. of exp. in a reputed IT company.I am a B.E. (IT) with good academics and good communication and writing skills.
I have completed my MBA in HR from ICFAI Univ, Tripura through Distance Learning, this January and now want to move in to the HR field.
I have a lot of confusions running in my mind..
Will they consider my past IT exp.?? How shall I find a new job in HR ?? Will my Distance Learning help me to move in to a new profile??
Can someone help me in this regard with career suggestions??
Regards

Hi Suman
As for as my opinion is concern, you should not leave your current field (IT). This feild is highly paid and only you have technical knowledge so you get good value if you are expert in it.
But if you want to come in HR field and as you have done your MBA in HR you can switch from IT to HR. In my opinion your diversed experties will be appriciated. You should try for some HR jobs and may be at initial level you may feel some difficulties in getting Job. But sooner or later you will have it.

As this is the time of customization. Update your C.V and modify it according to the needs of the company where you are applying. Change your Objective in your CV and Modify it mention your interest in HR. Highlight you HR related projects and your Internships (If you have done Internship in Human resources then it is much better for you). Highlight your HR related Skill set in your CV such as a good Team Leader/ Team Player, People Management skills, Time management, Communication etc . Highlight the workshops you have attended related to HR.
Again FOCUS on the needs of the company (What they want)

I work as a System admin which is not much of my interest. Here I need to work in shifts and also not sure of holidays on weekends and above all not very comfortable as a female.I am married and have a small kid and I can't take up such uncertain jobs.So I did my HR through Distance Learning and want to move to it.Also it is my area of interest.Let me know your suggestions.
