Hi, I have 1.4 yrs of total and relevant experience in HR (IT Recruitment). I have completed my BE ( Mech) and MBA(HR/IT). I tried for new HR opportunities but didn't get good openings so I decided to go for an IT course in JAVA to start my career in IT. Can you plz suggest should I continue looking for HR jobs or do an IT course or go for SAP HR course? Is it a right time to start as a fresher in any IT industry after due completion of my JAVA course ?.......plz help :(
Thanks

Dear
I suggest you to Do an ERP( SAP) course.
Java though is useful u are going to be pitched agaist people with E&C and CS background. Of course it is your talent which matters but u will have a basic disadvantage in your Eng.
Do an appropriate course in SAP.
with best wishes

Your query is itself saying that how much you are confused about your career. You have complete BE (Mech) and later enroll yourself for MBA (HR/IT) and also have invested your 1.4 years as HR IT recruiter but again wanna switch your work area is really confusing. Your are an recruiter and guess you can understand what is actually bothering you and why recruiters are not showing in your profile.
The Simple thing is that you need to work for your RESUME. You can to go for SAP-HR which is a technical qualification and will certainly give you Value added skills to your resume but it would be better If you will go to IT line which is a base line of yours. However, you have no experience and this will certainly demand you for a good time to establish yourself into IT again but after sometime, you can feel good that you have a single career line and have chance to grow.
Do you feel you can grow and have good career as IT Recruiter? Are you ready for it or have knowledge and skills to perform this task? You have to answer these questions first. And, if you found NO, as you answer, need to go to IT lines as you have decided. You also have to revise your knowledge with studying further applications (as you already doing JAVA) which is important for you because you were out of touched with them for 1.4y years.

Thanks both of you for your valuable suggestions.
@vasudev- can you plz elaborate on ERP(SAP) and how it would add to my experience and skills after having worked in HR ??..how is the scope for the course? which institues would you suggest would be the best and would give authetic certifiation?
@anilkr- Seeing the offers which are coming across in HR to me even after having a decent amount of experience I got skeptical and shaky about my career and future growth ...Well going ahead I am looking forward to have a blend of IT or to say knowledge of technical in my skillsets. For that purpose i am looking for SAP course. I came across SAP HR and SAP ABAP courses and seeing the scenario today the HR opportunities coming across are not too good nor they hold good prospects, where I could see myself growing hence doing a course will be beneficial. Can you suggest which would be better SAP HR or ABAP ?? What are the future prospect after doing of these course as I would be fresher after completion and seeing the mkt scenario and jobs?? which institutes would be the best?
