The process is as follows :
1. Get the Form 5 (I.F.) filled up by nominee/legal heir of the deceased or guardian of the minor nominee(s)/Legal heir of the deceased member
2. Attest the form
3. Get the claim form deposited with RPFC for settlement.
Here facilitation from employer is important as RPFC will process EDLI payment only when form 5 (IF) has been attested/authorised by the employer. First instruction in the form clearly says "Through the employer under whom the deceased was last employed".
The form can be downloaded from PF department website www.epfindia.com
