Can anyone help me in understanding the workers grading system in any manufacturing organization? I am working for a manufacturing company and we have 3 grades for workers - skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled. Some times, I have talked to some managment professionals regarding wrokers' dissatisfaction over their non-promotion. Some has suggested to keep as it is and just pay some hike in the salary. Some has advised for creating more grades. I am confused what to do.
Hence, would request all of you to put your valuable comments and experience regarding workers' grading along with the merits and demerits for the same.
With kind regards
Nasir

Hi nasir
You can do many things where you can have more options for the employee to grow like the same grade system staff memebers has .... example you can call Jr. Operator / Operator / Sr. Operator define it properly along with min benefits to it so the workers will also strive hard to reach the next level ........
You can also keep them happy by bring in various other healthy schemes where they are recoganized ...... since they are people who are skilled and semiskilled they like such recoz ......
Hope this will be of some help to start ....
