Dear member
it is difficult to guide you unless you come out in more detail about your leave policy such as whether the policy of the company require an employee to put in some minimum period of service in the fitsr year of his servcie to be eligible for accruing leave. In the absence of such stipulation your leave at 20 days a year works out one day leave for 18 days of service. In that event, your leave at the end of 31-12-2011 on prorata basis works out as 1.8 days which can be rounded off to two days which can be at credit in your leave account as of 1st jan 2012. you can request your HR to use their descretion and grant U leave as all that you are asking is one day leave in Feb.
