I am trying to withdraw my PF from my old company which is in Bangalore.I left the company in 2005. And submitted the withdrawal form in 2010. Now the company is saying that I have to submit an Indemnity Bond because I am withdrawing the PF quite late (more than 3 years late). I am in Lucknow now and can't go to Bangalore for this.
Is this right on part of the comapny to ask for Indemnity Bond?

If the claim is submitted later than 1 year then you have to submit an indemnity Bond alongwith the PF Claim forms (Form 10C and Form 19) PAN Card, Bank Pass Book First page xerox, Relieving letter issued by previous employer which will have the PF Number.
I am enclosing the PF Withdrawal Indemnity Form for your ready reference

Dear Sukumar,
This procedures are applicable of claim exceeding one year.
Dear Smitha,
Why don't you think of transferring the amount to the new PF no if you are employed till now?

The Indemnity Bond can be notarized from anywhere and the PF Application also can be submitted to Lucknow PF Office itself after obtaining the Attestation from the Nationalised Bank Manager from where you hold your account and the First page of Pass book xerox you attached. The Lucknow PF Office will further forward the same to theconcerned PF Office and it will be processed on receipt of your application at Bangalore PF Office.

Mr. Bhaskar,
Dont you think that the employer need to put a sign off & stamp in the EPF form? Hence it is mandatory to visit the office & complete the formalities.
Moreover, submitting the form in the right EPF office will save harrasement & time too, else might take as long as 3 months. The normal time duration is 1 month if the EPF form is submitted with all the proper documents.
So, Smita, will suggest you to spare time & visit the previous employer & complete the formalities once & for ever.
Thanks,
