Dear Mukesh,
Normally CEO or Senior most employees are given relaxation of coming late as they have many pre scheduled appointments until and unless they have some personal reasons of coming late then they are usually responsible enough to inform their immediate junior.

Hi Mukesh,
This is very common intellect, plant head is the final authority of the plant means owner of the plant and owner can come late. and only C.M.D or C.E.O has a right to ask any thing from plant head.

Hello Mukesh Kamboj, Vikash Sharma has said it right. I recollect a quote here: An employee is 'late', but the boss is always just 'delayed'. Rgds, TS

Actually everyone should come in time but according to Office Politics rules - Boss is always right. If Boss doesn't come in time, sooner of later subordinates will also follow... However, you have to handle the question diplomatically like...
1. He stays late...so he can some late...
2. He has a flexible schedule...
3. His role requires him to handle emergencies rather than usual works...

Resp. / Dear seniors,
Greeting…!!
I’m fully agree with Avantika Kumar as you have to be little diplomatic according to situation or by vikash sharma sir “C.M.D or C.E.O has a right to ask”. I’ve been going through similar kind of situation… and I preferred same strategy. Thanks both of you to make me believe, I’ve taken the right decision.

Dear Mukesh,
If I were in your place, my reply to this question would have been " Nothing " because if I speak against the vice president, My life will become miserable in the company.
More over if the Vice President is a good leader he would come in time and set an example of leadership
