What are the maternity benefits given to female employees in IT companies specifically? Can anyone suggest in a company with a employee strength of around 50 people , what kind of maternity benefits must be given ?

benifits are as per Maternity Benefits Act 1961. Use search option in this forum and you can find lot of info on MB Act. pon

Nature of business or activities pursued by any company; such as whether an IT or Trading company; does not alter the provisions of Labour legislations (unless so explicitly implied), including the provisions and benefits of Maternity to eligible employees.
However, it is open to employers to give more/additional benefits than prescribed by law.
