Hi to alll,
can anyone help me what are the ways to motivate the people in the factory.
1).though we are giving awards for the best acheivers every month which is given by the director, those snaps will be displayed in all the notice boards in the shop floor.
2) displaying their names on their birthdays
3) giving gifts for their valuable suggestions for the improvement
4) conducting sports events
5) tours and trips @ regular intervals
6) training programmes
7) giving free education through the universities
although we are motivating the people, still we are in position to do further more creative things to the employees
can anyone help us in this regard, awaiting for your suggestions
with regards,

Hi
Like you correctly stated there are plenty of things that one can do to motivate your staff. However without an understanding of your industry or staff strength and organizational culture making suggestions becomes tough. I am taking the liberty of adding a few suggestions and hope you can implement it directly or by modifying it to suit your requirements.
- Dedicate one notice board for a weekly creative display on any theme which is cleared by HR in advance. Eg. Environment protection/ water conservation etc. Appoint each functional department to take charge of the notice board for a week and get creative inputs from their staff. Have a monthly winner for the most effective display. Out of these you can have a yearly winner too.
- Organize a monthly CHALLENGE competition where the participants will be employees of the same grade from various departments. The Challenge will be a mix of quiz, extempore talks, a round or two of one minute games, etc. The total points got will decide the winner. The scoring and rules and additional games can be worked out by HR.
- You can have a MOTIVATIONAL / INSPIRATIONAL notice board, where you can put up some good articles or printed material. Contributions can be encouraged from staff members.
