An existing standing order can be amended after six months of its certification. For that the same formalities like signature of representatives of the trade unions, submission before the labour Commissioner/ Dy Labour Commissioner and getting the amendments certified are required.

There is no companion act but if you mean compassionate appointment, that is giving job to son/ daughter of an employee who died while in service, then I would say that that there is no Act in support or which says that compassionate appointment should be made ion private establishments. There are schemes available in government service and public sector undertakings. However, for private sector is purely based on the company's policy in this regard and it is well appreciated if any establishment does so. There are, of course, some establishments who have adopted a scheme of compassionate appointments. Normally, the same will be mentioned in the company's standing order itself.

Rules for compassionate appointment differs from company to company. However, under any rule married daughter may not be entitled to get the job in case of death of her father but the widow will be eligible to get a job of her deceased husband.
