Hi Gauravi,

I hope you need the entire induction thing for the purpose of training new people who ever is joining your organisation. In this regard I will suggest you to make a module on induction covering all those issues which a newcomer would like to know about the organisation like :

*The origin of the company

*It's core competencies

*The position of the organisation in respect to it's main competitors

*Its mission, vision, core values

*The growth rate of the organisation ( last 5 years trend analysis)

*The organisational hierarchy , with the picture of the respective departmental heads in it in the form of an organisational tree

*The career path of the individual/s whoever joining in

*A brief intro of every department in form of ( one liners)

I think all these will be more than enough to design your induction module

While scheduling for the induction keep the following things in mind :

*Plan your schedule realistically

*Plan to make the best use of the time available;

*Leave enough time for things you absolutely must do(e.g HR formalities)

*Keep some time as contingency time to handle the unexpected situations

*Don't overburden your schedule as the new joiners might loose interest and gets stressed

Before judging the effectiveness measurement of the Induction kindly define what is it that you want to measure. There can be lots of things which can be measured as the induction is for the new joiners like IQ, Loyalty, Competency and even product knowledge ( in reg. to the sector)etc.... so you can conduct various aptitude tests and subjective tests to measure the effectivity of the induction.

Last but not the least , the joining kit should contain a brochure or a CD of the organisation, a copy of the induction schedule, a HR Reckoner along with the basics of the kits being provided for induction.

Hope it's going to help you to an extent. For further clarifications kindly revert back.
