Dear Paharia,
If any thing you are giving as a Monthly Basic. It counts as a Allowance in which ESIC is applicable & If you are providing Medical as a Yearly or Quaterly, Six-Monthly to employee. It will called a reimbursement .

Dear Mr. Pahariya,
Your gross emoluments, including the medical allowance of Rs.2440 works out to Rs.14920 which is below the ceiling limit of Rs.15,000 for the purpose of deduction of ESI contribution. If the component is "Medical Allowance" this will be added to your gross salary. If the component is "Medical reimbursement" the same is not to be added. If your Company has deducted ESI, you can ask them to stop.

Dear All,
Sorry for that big mistake.
Any one having gross salary less then 15,000 has to pay monthly towards ESI acc to new ESI rule.

Pls consider this post. For Mr. pahariya ,gross is less then 15000 so his deduction should be 1.75% of gross salary. Further , 4.75% contribution will be given by the employer.Total 6.50% amt will be contributed towards ESI.
