mukunthan. HR
Respected seniors,
I was working in a mid-sized software company nearly for one and half years as HR executive with a team of 3 including me where myself and my collegue wants to report to my senior.Due to downturn, management relieved nearly 75% of their total strength in the month of OCT 2009.Myself and my collegue also suffered in this and now my senior is the only person taking care of all the activities. Now she is about to relieve from that company because of her personal works. So now management asking me to re-join to take care of all the responsibilities. Also when i verified the financial status of that comapny it came to my knowledge that company is providing half of the salary only than the mentioned.they didnt cured yet from the financial sickness it seems.my MD personally called me and asked to join v.immediately.What can i do now?if i;m rejoining will it affect my future carreer.I am highly puzzled.can u lpease share your opinion in this regards.

hi mukunthan,
what are you doing now?
if your present position and pay is on par or better than the previous one, don't go back, else take a chance. you have highlighted the financial position of the company. no use then in going back unless you are unemployed. (in that case Known devil is better than unknown angel).
love your job, not your boss (he was your MD!!)

Dear Mr.Mukunth,
i agree with Mr.ramesh. your previous company doing head hunting while they are n need. but as advised by Mr.ramesh, if u are unemployed / not satisfied with present job, you can join in the previous co else remain with the present job.
always put your step forward.

Your decision will depend upon your present job. Compare it with the job offer on the factors job content, future prospects, salary etc. and take a call. In case you are not employed anywhere then straightaway join the company. From career point of view working somewhere is always better than sitting idle. Company calling you back to rejoin also speaks positively about your past performance and trust in you.
Thanks & Regards

Dear Mukunthan,
I also endorse the comments of Ramesh & vkokamthankar. Its +ve if your previous organization is approaching you and asking you to rejoin, but as you stated about the financial status of the company as of now, there are chances that after considerable headhunting your previous MD could not find any suitable guy to take up the responsibility at a salary as being offered to them.........considered as way below expectations, and he might be having the confidence that you are the guy who can easily be made workable according to their terms & conditions. Correct me if I am wrong.

Dear Mukunthan,
As u researched about the financial status of your previous company, now u need to think about that or dicuss with your MD about your salary & other matters, even u r not setisfied then discuss with your previous comapnies sr. HR.
It is very rarelly find that same company ask to the old employee for rejoining, which will benefit to u for updating in your CV. Which shows about your dedication with the previous company.
thanks,

I suppose this is a case where job is changed for few more rupees. You should have given thought to long term career rather than rise of few rupees in present salary. While changing the job one should always look at the companie's size, reputation, financial status, management reputation, brand etc. etc.. I wonder having worked with a company once, were you not aware of all these things and how you choose to rejoin them.
Thanks & Regards
