Hi,
It's okay to celebrate Holi at Office. Should be celebrated at a central place and only dry powders should be used. Should be played only with people who have interest and more importantly should not disturb women staff.

I would suggest giving away sweets or chocolates to the employees that they can share with their family and loved ones.
You can also do a luck dip sort of a thing with 4-5 gifts.
If you wish you can organise some food/snack at the office but don't forget thandai ( i hope i spelled it right)....
ALso pur chandan ka Tilak for every one if you don't want messy colours in the office....
HAPPY HOLI!!!!!!!!!! :D

you could come a bit early to office and arrange a thali with various colours. As other employees begin coming in,wish them and apply colorful tikas on their forehead.Evenings, you could play also.People usually dont mind safe gulal and are sportive :)

Hi,
I think you can have some events/competitions organized like Rangoli competition, or most colorful dress/atire competition./ grafitti/ face painting etc..related to colors..which will not spoil the workplace culture and also serves the purpose of the festival and end up distributing sweets amongst employees!

Hi,
Thank you all so much for the suggestions.
Here is what we did.
We had a competition on who decorates his / her work place in the most colorful manner at the same time not be messy ( we picked the best & gave out a gift)
we initially thought of Antakshari but on popular demand ended up with Dumbsherads
We also had a small celebration with Cake cutting
& wrapped up with we all leaving our colourful hand prints (& also signed against it) on a couple of poster papers which we intend to leave it on the office wall for some time

as per what i think holi should be kept outside the office. It would unnecessarily break the office decorum. i am not against holi, but i a usually don't encourage such practices rest is up to you.

Dear Roopareddy,
You shall celebrate it in many ways. You shall buy some sweets and distribute it to all employees because holi is a days of sweets and colours. Again don't use liquid colours. Use only normal colour powders. Please don't disturb any employees who are not interested in playing holi. You can arrange for some dance because dance would be of good welcome.
Take lots of snaps after the festival with colours on and send it to all employees who participated. Have some rangoli competition in groups if you have enough place.
Keep a lucky dip. Again take a bowl and have 30 activities written in the paper and roll that out. Play passing ball and those who get stuck has to pick one from that bowl and have to do that activity.
Make sure that you don't miss fun with a frame of behavior... ;)
