As for Tel Quest its no different than the personal interview the only difference is the person is on telephone as for me i take telephonic if the candidate wants so & is tied up or has a tight schedule so dis becums the Ist questn why telephonic n rest wat all we ask in Normal interview.

Telephonic interview are no difference than in person interview provided you want to judge his / her communication, attitude and basic underrstanding about his/her job profile rest can be judge only by Face to face interview.

I agree with Sujata. Telephonic Interview gives the complete picture of communication skills and confidence level of prospective candidate. Though 100% judgement can't be drawn but it is one of the important prelim round.
