Hi...
Please give me an advice whether to accept an offer as Executive-HR position for a corporate Hospital.
I am an HR person with around 3 years of experience. Pls advice me whether it is a good choice for me to go for hospitality industry.
I am currently working for a construction company which is not challenging enough for me and not giving me enough career growth / learning experience.
Awaiting for the reply.
Bye...

Dear Sindhu
First ask for ur profile & ur career growth in that organization...
Because i had a excellent professor who was VP in Bhaktivedant hospital...Trust me his knowlege was really good.
So u shouldn't worry abt the Ind. as long as the exposure is good.
End of the day every one will see what have to learnt in all these years..

Asha

Hi Sindhu,
Since iam in Corporate Hospital sector for last 5 yrs, i can assure you that the career scope is very good. The exposure is also very good.
As an industry last few years most of the leading hospials are showing avery good performance.
If you select the right organization there is very good scope for better HR practices like Good Training and Development, Performance Appraisal etc.
Now days most of the leading groups are offering better Pay also.
But one thing is very important that you should select the right organization/Group, otherwise we will struckup. :)
Wish you a very good career,
Jinoy

Hi Sidhu

with due respect to the respondants who have been postive for the corporate hospital profile, would like to brief u that I had recently an offer for manager from Wockhart group of hospitals. but I dint go ahead. I consutled my very senior GM, who dined.

reasons being if you are in an industry you willl have entire HR exposure while in hospitals it will be only recruitment, Performance Mgt , Trng & Dev. In future if you wana have a change u will have to go for hospitals / service ind only. secondly the Cheif adminstrators will be a panel of doctors who at times are whimsical to deal with. He briefed me about his friends who moved off within months after joining hospitals

but still, over and above you should have an interest for this pofile, you should enjoy your job else it will be boring in coming days.

If you really want to grow in hard core HR , you need to think twice keeping aside the pay package as the leading companies preferes candidates from reputed companies instead of hospitals . HR market is booming and all of us will have multiple choice in coming days !

Rightly advised by other, look in the mgt or concern first and then go ahead

Dear Sidhu,
Myself working with the hospital line since last 2 yrs. If u r looking for responsibilities den hospitals r da best place to work. Since they r small insize as compared to other industries so u get a vast exposure.
I think u shld go ahead with the offer.

Respected seniors,
I would like to go ahead in such a career since I graduated in Hospital Management and recently completed my MBA in HR from NIT (REC) Durgapur.
Any suggestions as to how to get about it?
