As of May 2009 current population of India is 6,634,236,512....... Why India is called as under developing country?
From India, Madras
sojuloyola@yahoo.com
India's current population is close to 1.12 billion. India is the second largest populated country after China.
China's population (1.32 billion ) is going to stagnate soon with olde people beconing a signifiant part of the population and relatively lower percentage of population in the younger age. In 3 to 4 decades India will approach China's population size. But for quite some time India will have reklatively younger working population.

Russia: 143 million (about 2.2%)
Nigeria: 135 million (about 2.1%)
Japan: 128 million (about 2.0%)
Mexico: 108 million (about 1.7%)
Vietnam: 87 million (about 1.3%)
Philippines: 86 million (about 1.3%)
Germany: 82 million (about 1.3%)

India being undeveloped has been our long held beliefs. For centuries we looked down at merchants as low cast people. Brahmins were the most respected and after that come shatrias and then merchants and finally the lowest level was of the shudras who did manual labor. Hence in our society doing work by hand was never a respected job. We looked down at people who did trade. All this mentality cost us dear more so in this modern society.
But the times are changing. More and more Brahmins are doing MBA’s and also hard work is getting the respect it deserves.
