Hi Seniors,
I need your guidance in setting up HR Functions in my organization.. I work with a start up Consultancy & was appointed as HR Recruiter... Now the company is concentrating on the other avenues like getting into training & also in taking up corporate projects etc.. We have appointed more recruiters & also feel the need of having proper HR Systems... I have been promoted as Executive HR & the responsibility of building systems has been entrusted to me.....
I need to start from a scratch as i was more into recruitment & need guidance in making the whole process work....
Kindly help me. I am really confused of how, to go about doing all this..
Thanks & Regards

Hi Poonam,
Great Job.
Look into the needs, wants at this point of time. Firstly understand the manpower requirenent and the finance allocated to you for the same. Now do a detail study for every position (like why? responsibility? salary? ROI?) for example if you hiring a trainer for certain set skill you need to make sure that you have the project for the trainers, else you can get those trainer on contract. Similary if you working on the HR Function you get associate wrt diff fields (C&B, Performance appraisal, MIS) this will help for day to day activity in hous as well as over the project.

Hi Poonam,
I congratulate you for getting such an opportunity, policy making and System development of HR is really not an easy task. Remember, "YOU CAN"T DO IT BY FOLLOWING SOME ONCE DOCUMENTS" .
Step 1:
I can suggest you process as I have done this in my past 2 employers. Line up the Functionalities of HR Recruitment, Referral Check, Induction, T&D......Ect.. respect to your company needs.
Step 2:
Pen up the process, work flow and department chart for every functionality, in order make aware and assign the owner ship to every depart ment.
Step 3:
Develop or design the templates, forms and documents required for the communication in the process and for document.
Thanks & Best Regards,
Shiva

Hi poonam,
To start HR function from scratch you have to implement these functions:
1. Recruitment (Your Core Function)
2. Training & development:- For this you have to identify & analyse the training needs of the employees & on the basis of that arrange training programme.
3. Performance appraisal :- Start doing confirmation & appraisal process ( six month or one year basis)
4. Attendence & payroll process:- Track attendence record & late coming person.
5. You can do Fun @ work activities by organizing Employees gathering Monthly basis.
These function are the base to set up an HR system. if u able to do this that will be great .
Thanks & regards
