alright, first and foremost, is OB part of HRM or isit a discipline of it's own? I personally feel that OB is significantly different from HRM although there are similiar overlaps. While HRM focuses on more of the practical aspects of personnel management, OB emphasizes more on the individual characteristics in an organization.
What do you guys think?
Apart from that, is there any specific designation or member association for OB? I know there are lots for HRM, but I was wondering if there are any for OB....

IT s definately the part of HRM. HRM is dealing and managing human resources and thus when u are dealing with human resources, that comes with human behaviour in broad sense.

hello
I agree that OB is a part of HRM but Organisational Bhehaviour has lots and lots of theories in itself ,,,, so are these theories applied in the organisation .... and if that is so then when ,,, like which theory of motivation do u think is prevalent in the organisation today.
Looking at the TYPE (A or B)of a person what do we come to know ??? and how can we utilise the theory so as to maintain a balance between a persons job responsibilities and his characteristics.

OB is definitely a part of HR, when we talk about HR, it stands for HUMAN RESOURCE,, so everything related to them, their feelings, emotions, personality, behavior, etc. and OB teaches us the same - to know the each aspects of Individual and it help us to do our job better as a HR professional, coz OB is involved in every activity of HR, whether it is recruitment, selection, training, performance appraisal etc....
OB is Heart of HR, it provide the base from where HR work starts, without it, it will be very difficult to deal with very HR issues........
