Hi Reena,
Successful Career change depends upon lot of things such as , financial aspect, your liking to new job profile, your capabilities to handle new challenges, satisfication you will get out of new job etc. So you need to think on all thse aspects before you decide to accept new work assignment.
As far as HR field is concern , you can make a very good career in HR. As an operations person you will be working on behalf of employees, but as an HR person you need to be link between management and empolyees. So it requires a change in the angle you see any situation, your attitude towards the situation, your skills how you solve any problem where is there an win win situation etc.
Also if you decide to take the new role , I would suggest that you should take some formal training in HR , that will help you grow in the field which is very intresting and challenging.
