Dear Members,
I got an offer from a PSU which is a govt of india enterprise named as NPCC ( National Project construction corporation Ltd). At present i am working with a MNC firm.
If i joined the PSU, i shall be joining on less salary of Rs. 8k per month in comparision to my present in hand salary & also to relocate from present location where i am having my own house. The only charm to join the PSU is the designation, Job profile & after all its a govt job. May be in long run it can be beneficial for me.
Pl. help, & send the advantages & disadvantages in joining PSU in comparision of MNC, so that it can help me a lot in taking a right decision.
Requested to send the details at the earliest.
Regards

Dear,
Finally, take a decision not based on merits and demerits of an "MNC" and "Govt" Job. The list is never ending and I feel, it will never end.
Choose a company, where you can work in peace and enjoy working what you do and besides enjoy your family life as well. Rest all will follow you, when you are happy and contended.
Wish you all the Best

Hello,

First of all, kindly check out with authentic sources, if a typically "govt. job" and a "job with a government company" is one and the same thing! I am not too sure either way but you should not decide under a mistaken assumption!

Having said that, the factors to consider for comparison would be:

1) Job autonomy appropriate to the level you work at, at any given time.

2) Challenges in the professional domain and the opportunities for enrichment and of wide exposure!

3) Organizational culture as in, bureaucracy, autocracy, openness, trust & confidence etc.

4) Compensation and growth prospects.

There are many more factors but I am limiting myself to the most essential ones only.

What is more important the level of comfort with colleagues, superiors and subordinates. This can only be assessed!

From a career point of view and without knowing anything about the comparison suggested, I feel you would be better off with your present or similar MNC or large Indian companies. But where ever you go assess if acceptance of formal HR conceptualization is genuine or it gets only superficial consideration unless you are open to undertake establishing HR in a new organization, if need be!

I hope this response helps you decide!

Dear Friend.
First of all if your current package is higher than the package being offered by PSU Company dont accept it because you have to leave your place and has to leave on rented primses which cost you maore. There is no advantage in joining PSU Company. and people who loved to work and like to get promotion on merit should not opt of PSU. As there is no reconginition of your work in PSU and work in styreotyped manner. There is no place of innovation there.

Thanks a lot to all members for taking a right decision as per your valuable views.
As per your valuable views i feel very relaxed for taking a right decision. My decision is not to opt for PSU offer.
Thanks a lot once again.
