Before choosing any industry type you should look at the resources in your hand?you need to ask two questions to yourself
Have you engaged competent pool of talent to create customer delight?
what is the organisation road map ?
subsequently use decision matrix to take any decision.

if you have prior experience of placement in retail industry, you should start with that first as you will be at ease in handling this segment but simultaneoulsly you should start looking financial sector also but the level of activity at the intial stage should small.it is only when you understand the ins- & out of financial market put your hand in it as such a service firm should always aim at creating customer delight or magic moments.

Thanks once again. My friend/partners (two of them) are from the financial sector. They do have the background in that industry. In fact our plan is to intially focus on these two sectors and then expand to other sector. In the meanwhile, we are also open to other sectors as far as collecting of CV are concerned.
Since it is a start up , I would like to know how could I generate The database, especially of the candidates , (both freshers and experienced)
Your inputs is really allowing me to have clarity. thanks once again

Generating a database of candidates is not a very big problem. You can become a member of job portals, but to gain competitive advantage you will have to focus on niche , which will differentiate your firm from the others .At local /national level you should also make use of refferals
