In my opinion SMSing is no the proper official communication method, it should be through official mail.
The employee communication should be done through mail. Which can be used for the sharing any official information or where a message has to be conveyed to more employees rather than one or two employees.

i agree with jayasree.... any official interaction should be done through emails. this will help in keeping a track of every details and even one cannot deny.... for sms one can might say he/she has not received it or might say it got deleted wrongly before i could read it....lot many......sms can be useful for instantconveying of message but must mail the details for future use....
this is all that i feel about communication using SMS generation communication.

Employees have gone to the extent of using a funny, weird abbreviated language to communicate these days. This is not a healthy trend. Anything official needs to be either mailed or a regular letter should be sent in.

Hi,
No doubt communication has through SMSing would give a personalized touch, yet organizational communication should not be done through SMSing.
1.Official communication is formalised .
2.All official communication need not be personalized.
3.The size of the communication matters- one cannot load all the files /attachements for reference!

i feel it should be implemented in some departments and not for all. As this might be very much important for departments such as MKT & Sales, Branch office reports to H.O etc., as it happens with many companies and their employees working from an outstation location where they might have poor internet connectivity or might at that day have a state wise strike or some natural disaster.
I wish all of us will agree that it's very much required but again not for all departments or sections functioning for a company.

Hi All
I think in the Fast pace environment ... Communication through SMS is not harm ... May be ur SMS should not come from an indiviual mobile number. It can come from Specifying the company name not any numbers
And i ill acccept this is not formal one but it can act as a ready reference and convey important things as well the employees will realise the efforts the company ill take care of themselves.
This is my opinion

THANKS A LOT FOR POSTING YOUR VALUABLE VIEWS.
I have come across a online tool which clarifies a lot of issues in this discussion.
<link outdated-removed>
Very similar to email account: Login, Compose and send SMS.
  • This tools helps you to keep record of the communication.
  • It helps you to manage your contact groups online.
  • Moreover it is very fast and cheap.
Have a look at this and please let me know your valuable feedback on the same.

I really hope you will like this tool!!!!
KEEP POSTING....YOUR VIEWS ARE REALLY VALUABLE!!!!
