Dear Anita,
Very nice story.
But what was actually nice was the way you co-related with using it in a training session.
A very novel and subtle way of encouraging the people to make tangible benefits out of any training program they attend.

Ajay

Hi Anita!
The story is a good one appearing in current management literature. Recently I had used this for a project of my daughter titled 'Global Warming'. Good idea from you to wrap up a training session. Thanks.

Hey Anita,
The story makes a lot of sense. It is very true and it has to be a part of every training.
It is very imp for us to make our participants understand the need of training and that they SHOULD implement it during their work.
I am sure that this will help. The participants will always remember this after the training sessions.
Thanks a ton.

Sheetal

well that was a good one...but lemme add on another story to ur's probably to give ur thot a lil boost... :) it goes like ths...
2 salesmen of a shoe manufctrng company were sent to an island for a survey where apparntly all the inhabitants were bare footed.they both did their works... the fst person went back and said- "there is no scope to sell any shoes coz nobody uses shoe there"
and the 2nd person made a remark that- "there are thousands of oppurtunity to sell our product coz nobody there wears a shoe...this is what a training shud impart . the rite attitude to excel and grow....

hi Anita..
well that was a good climax for an ususal training..lemme add anther story which will probably give ur story a lil boost...
the story goe slik this:
a shoe manufacturing company asked two pf its executives to conduct a survey in an island were apparently all the inhabitants were bare footed. the 2 of them set for their task. they carried it well and got bak to their boss and remarked the following way:
the 1st sd - "since there arent any1 whu is usng a footwear we cant sell any there.
and the 2nd sd- "Sir, since nobody is using there footwear we have ample oppurtunity to sell our products in good volume as each person is a prospective buyer"!!!!
this is exactly what a training shud inculcate- the right attitide to wards ur job and life so that u grow and excel.
thanks

well Anita...
cant u start a training session with the story u narrated so that people realy understand what they are upto and then the end as i sd the climax cud be probably the story of thsoe two salesmen that I narrated a while ago...so that even at the end they r reminded of the purpose and the utility.

dear aparna,
I also use the story of 2 salesmen but thats during the training when i talk of importance of atttude. The reason for using the story at end is that it actually hits the participants hard and they are able to co-relate the learning of the training to their everyday application.
