Dear All,
In our company the attendane cycle is 20 to 20. In this case 10 days salary without checking the attendance we process. But in the next month salary attendance of these 10 days is checked, if there be any LWP then that will be deducted in next month salary. If employees ask, say them we processed full month salary of last month even if your LWP, so we deduct in current month as we checked only 20 days of attendance of last month.
Hope this will help you.

Well, if you planned for the salary period calculation from 26th to 25 them you need to re-schedule your system or software. I believe its better way as after 26th you have few days to manage leave etc. resulting to final salary calculation.

Actually, there is no law preventing you from paying salary for 25 days, so long as it is clear that the salary period is for 25 days. Payment of wages act provides that salary period can not exceed 1 month. It allows a lesser period - weekly and fortnightly.
However, you are likely to have a problem with the statutory dues as these are computed and verified on calander month basis. So it is not a good idea to change the wage period to 25 th of the month. Instead what you can do is to use that as a cut off for salary computation
With current level of automation options available, you do not need more than 3 days to complete payroll, so the entire rationale of switching to 25th cut off no longer applies. Giving salary on lat day of the month again has no rationale really. After the first month the impact no longer holds.

If you have to process the salary on 26th so you may process the salary of 5 or 6 days in advance on assumption. In every next month you can settle the arrears for those 5 or 6 days.

Hi,
Presently we process salary for 1st date of the month till last date of the month. Now we are planning to change this process to 26th of the last month to 25th of the next month so that employees could get the salary on 1st of every month. At present, they usually get the same by 7th of every month.
Appreciate all the ideas shared here, specifically Gianim23's.
Ms. Bhavana, would request you to please elaborate your concept. I did not get what you shared above. One of the seniors also conveyed his ideas the way you have mentioned above. Waiting for your reply on this.
Thanking you...

I concur with Ms.Bhavana’s suggestion..... We are doing the same. 26th to 25th is only the cut-off date for attendance... Regards, Kumar

Dear Vishal,
Can you let us know what is your purpose to change the existing system. As far as my experience what you are following is far better then what you are planning. You will be paying the employees considering that they will be present for the next 4 or 5 days.Agian for e.g.. if some one has absconded and not coming to duty it will again become your headache for the recovery and so on. I have through this cycle it is tough.

Dear Mr.Vishal,
26th to 25th is the aattendance cut off date and salary will be paid for the period 1st to 30th / 31st of the month. It is said to be assumed salary.
Say for example, for the April'13 salary, attendance and OT inputs is collected for the period 26th Mar to 25th April'13.Salary will be processed for for 1st to 30th of April'13 and credited to employees on 30th April'13 or 1st of consecutive month.
Regards,
Kumar
