Better consult your MR. He is the right person to guide you on this
It is also important that any new joinees get to know the operations of the dept that they join before commencing work. In this respect, your Boss in the HR dept has to take the lead

Dear Ashok,

ISO is nothing but making you discover yourself based on your own sincerity in maintaining your manuals, records, procedures etc and keep them attuned always. As you know ISO certification is not awarded department wise. An industry fulfilling the requisite standards and compliance is awarded ISO certification. And periodically all departments are audited by the Agency who awards the certification to check whether the parameters are intact or not, especially when renewals are due. And stipulations would vary from industry/estt. to estt. You have not mentioned anything about your industry. So specifics could not be suggested. However considering your urgency here are some suggestions and notes to help you to have some understanding about the subject matter. You may also go thro' the following links/posts discussed in citeHR earlier which may or may not be relevant.

The attached notes will help you to prepare yourself in the interim.

All the best.

Dear Ashok,
The replies are very good, but first understand wat the standard demands. For HR so many records and documentation is not required. For organization comfort making so much documentation. for HR only 6.2.2 Competence, Training and Awareness clause is applicable . U need only 2 records Competence Records of ur employees and Evaluation of Training records, these 2 records to be controlled as per control of documents procedure of ur organization.
Standard not demanding any documented procedure for HR activities. Please read the standard and understand it.
Auditors conduct the audit on the basis of standard requirements only. If they go beyond the standard u can challenge them.
Regards,
Narayan

ISO27001 information security management is the international best practice standard for information security. ISO 27001:2005, the current version of the standard, provides a set of standardised requirements for an information security management system (ISMS). ISO 27001 certification is suitable for any organisation, large or small and in any sector. The standard is especially suitable where the protection of information is critical, such as in the banking, financial, health, public and IT sectors. The standard is also very applicable for organisations which manage high volumes of data, or information on behalf of other organisations such as datacentres and IT out sourcing companies.
