Please help me.
I was working in a factory (under societies act) in Hyderabad since 1974. Due to heavy loss and mis management the factory was closed (declared lock-out) in the year 1993. Now the land, machinery and all other properties were auctioned by syndicate bank for their loan amount. Now we the employees, minimum 10-15 years service are suffering a lot. Almost all are in the age group of 50 and above now. Pf office is not taking the settlement form as nobody is authorised to sign the settlement form. As the factory was under society act they used a board of governers to run the factory. Now almost all the members are also no more.
Factory name. Water Development Society,
Moulali, Hyderabad.40. AP. 500040.

Dear Manikumar,
In cases of fresh/ new contracts my advice on you would be to suggest contractor to obtain license for maximum number (exceeding 400 nos.) by paying the prescribed fee applicable for this number bracket. If such contracts are operative and such situation is being faced at contractor's end , there is a provision as per section 28 of Contract Labour ( R&A) Act, 1970 to apply for amendment of the issued license.
Also please check at your end that your firm as Principal Employer ( P.E) has registration certificate for engaging contract labours more that 400 nos. In the otherwise case , you may also have to request for amendment of registration certificate by paying prescribed fee and moving an application for amendment with Labour Office/Asstt. Labour Commissioner.
