Need some new ideas. Band & cards r common. We are having half day on saturday till 3.00pm. So after that only we can celebrate the day. Need some exciting ideas for friendship day.

Hi I am working as a HR and the activity that i have decided is: We would make chits for the all the employees and ask every employee for pick a chit for whom you need to do something special. They need to display their thought and creativity in making a special day for the person you have picked through chits.

Why dont you think of something that would be more like a team building / Relationship improvement session.

Anyone would feel good about knowing how much one appreciates his/her personality / attributes/ skills. Take for instance if you have 20 staff members on friday - send an email to everyone on the floor with the names of people who they closely interact with. Ask them to be ready with the positive attributes they feel about the person in the list, and read it out loud durign teh Friendship day meeting.

It can be as simple as - what I would have to say for my colleague: (Example)

"When I first met Jane I thought she was just full of attitude, and a stubborn natured lady. But duringteh time I spent interacting with her closely especially during the abc project, I just realized how bad I was at judging such a wonderful person.

If there are any praises for my work - it goes to Jane's efforts in moulding me to hwat I am today.

Jane - you are a true leader. I am sure that a few years down the line, you would have many people wanting to work in your team - simply because you know how to make the best of anyone!"


After this - distribute something good to eat (snacks). People crave for that.

Maybe you can have a cake cutting ceremony too.

Ravi I agree with Neha, it is a job of HR to provide the environment where employees love to come & memory which will alway keep them connected to the company.
Prerana I suggest , though I am not aware about the culture of your company & age group of the employees. That you can also organize a small party with dance & dineer for only employees / with family. And also have some games which will help you to have build up good teams & interpersonal relations.
Hope you will have gr8 time on frindship day.

We can celebrate frndship as appreciation day in office.
we can print the tags for appreciation & if anyone wants to appreciate then they and pick the tag put the comments and place it on notice board and at EOD we can see how many we received will be declared as best friend of all colleuges in office.:icon1:
